Police Arrest Man for Domestic Violence

Sparks Police report that they have arrested one man for alleged violence against his girlfriend.

According to police, officers met a victim of domestic violence just before 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 23rd. The victim had been in an argument with her live-in boyfriend, identified as 51-year-old Sparks resident Nicholas Polisso. During the argument, Polisso hit the victim with a wooden cane in the head and leg, giving her an abrasion to her forehead and breaking her leg. She escaped the home and sought medical help. She then contacted the police.

After meeting the victim, police found Polisso in the home he shared with the victim in the 300 block of View Street. Polisso attempted to flee from police, but was caught inside the home.

He has been charged with domestic battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm and domestic battery second offence. He is being held at the Washoe County Jail on $25,000 bail.
