Authorities say a suspect in a high-speed chase from Saturday remains on the loose while a second man was arrested in Mono County, California.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol, at around 8:42 a.m. troopers were called to find a suspect driving at high speeds in Mono County. During a traffic stop officers were interviewing a driver outside his car, when the car's passenger got into the driver's seat and drove off with the vehicle. The car reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour as the suspect fled from troopers into Nevada. Troopers say attempts to stop the car were unsuccessful, and it was last seen on northbound I-580 north of Bowers Mansion.

The escaped suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Geoffrey Guess from Idaho. His vehicle, a silver 2013 Hyundai Sonata, with California plates 6VRP791, has been recovered, but Guess still remains on the loose.

Guess has been known to resist police officers and troopers say he is considered armed and dangerous, and may have warrants out for his arrest.

32-year-old Zachary Carr of Pocotello, Idaho was arrested for aiding a fugitive, evading a peace officer, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. He is currently in custody at the Mono County Jail.

CHP says Carr told them he had consumed methamphetamine and that he was helping Guess flee law enforcment out of Utah. They say he also knew Guess was a fugitive and was helping take him to Southern California to prevent him from being arrested.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911 or the Department of Public Safety-Communications Center at (775) 687-0400.
