Abbacadabra Heads to Hollywood

Posted: Updated:

Gary Raffanelli knows he value of reinventing himself. In the 1980s he and Sandy Selby were a local hit. But about nine years ago he realized it was time for a change. And when he produced a Abba tribute show for Harrah's Reno, he really struck gold. Because it's a show that never grows old.

"We have been traveling for nine years now on cruise ships and cross the country playing with symphonies. We just got an offer to go to India," Raffanelli says.

And they've also just been invited to do a live concert for AXS-TV in Hollywood.

"AXS is owned by Ryan Seacrest and Mack Cuban. The show is called "The World's Greatest Tribute Bands." It airs live every Monday night. We'll be there at the Whiskey A Go-Go March 31st. They tape in Hi-Def with like 8 cameras and trucks with satellite dishes. And get this, they have 70-million households. I'm hoping we get like 68-million tuning in. That would be great!" Raffanelli says.

Because he believes that all they really need it that one special viewer to take their next step.

"We put a lot of character in the show," he says, "but we stick to the music. We do all the singing ourselves. We hope this opportunity will lead to even more."
