ArenaCross This Weekend at Reno Livestock Events Center

Posted: Updated:

ArenaCross has taken over the Reno Livestock Events Center - and it's always a pretty exciting event to watch but this year one of the riders is getting a lot of attention because she is the first woman in the history of the sport to race at this level.

Vicki Golden made history back in 2011 when she qualified to race in a professional championship against an all-male field. Since then she has won three gold medals in the X Games.

She'll be racing Friday night and Saturday in the Biggest Little City - something she says is always a highlight thanks to the fans. "The people in Reno are awesome. They're stoked to be in here, stoked to watch some racing, and it's still a good, family environment."

In ArenaCross, riders go as fast as they can through a tightly-packed track just inches away from each other. And Golden says the field in Reno is very competitive. "There's a lot of fast locals from here, and then from California that'll drive up. So I think this is one of the tougher stops."

The AMSOIL ArenaCross event starts tomorrow night at 7 at the Reno Livestock Events Center. It continues on Saturday with a pit party at 6pm and the race beginning at 7.

And you have a chance to win some tickets Friday by watching "Channel 2 News This Morning."
