RTC to Host Open House on Sparks Blvd. Corridor

Posted: Updated:

From the Regional Transportation Commission:

The Regional Transportation Commission will introduce the Sparks Blvd. Corridor Study during a community open house on Thursday, Feb. 20th at Reed High School located at 1350 Baring Blvd. from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

The study will identify and evaluate potential multi-modal transportation improvements to make the corridor safer and easier to get around. Improvements to be addressed in the study include pedestrian and ADA (American with Disabilities Act) enhancements, efficient traffic operations, safety, transit and bicycle improvements. An element of the study also includes a traffic analysis for the corridor in relation to the SouthEast Connector and Pyramid/US 395 Connection projects.
Recommendations for enhancements will be based on community input received during the term of the study, expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Members of the public can stop by anytime to meet the RTC project team to learn about the study and share their ideas and concerns for the Sparks Blvd. Corridor. For information about the study visit www.rtcwashoe.com and click on HOT TOPICS.
