Reno Police Probe Rock-Throwing at City Buses

Posted: Updated:

RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Reno police are looking for a suspect or suspects who have been throwing big rocks through the windows of city buses full of people.

Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for breaking the windows, assaulting passengers and drivers of the RTC RIDE buses.

Police say seven buses have had windows broken by thrown objects since the first of the year on four different routes spread out across the city.

One passenger was hit and taken to the hospital. In other cases, broken glass cut a driver and a large rock landed in a passenger's lap after shattering a window.

Anyone with information is asked to call Reno police at 775-334-2115 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
