NHP Releases Name of Driver Killed in I-80 Rollover East of Sparks

The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of the driver killed in Friday's fatal rollover accident on I-80 near the Mustang Exit.

NHP says the accident happened around 7:45 a.m. Friday about six miles east of Sparks.

The drivers of a Chevy S-10 pickup - and a semi-truck were both headed east on Interstate 80, when troopers say the semi-truck changed lanes, clipping the Chevy which then hit the guardrail, crossed both east lanes, went up an embankment and then rolled over onto the west lanes of I-80.

The Chevy driver, 50-year-old David S. Abrams of Sparks, died at the scene. The Freightliner driver, 39-year-old Shawn A. Huff of Tremonton, Utah was not hurt.

Two vehicles heading west sustained minor damage from debris caused by the rollover.
