This Valentine's Day will be special for Krystal Tingle. Not because of a special someone in her life; actually, right now she is single. In fact, the 31-year-old says she has never actually been in love. Soon, however, that could change - thanks to a project Krystal is launching on February 14th.
"I'm right at the beginning of my love story. This is where it starts for me." Krystal is launching The Love Jump, which is more than a blog; it is a diary of a woman who has been waiting patiently for love. Krystal will be the first to tell you she hasn't suffered heartbreak-after-heartbreak, but her love life is stagnant right now. "We get involved in our careers, friends and school and before you know it, you're 31 and it's like cricket, cricket, chirp, chirp!" Krystal laughs.
There is no sitting silent any more, however. While she's never fallen in love, she is now jumping into it – for the entire world to see. "It is scary. I'm scared to death!" From the fun to the awkward moments, she will document her dating life behind-the-scenes. "I want to inspire everybody; People like me who've never been in love and people that maybe have been divorced and given up on love, along with people who count themselves out. I just think, you gotta go for it, you just gotta jump!"
Krystal's all-in attitude attracted the attention of a local artist. "You ready?" asks Jessi LeMay from behind her camera. "Where do you see yourself in six months?" Jessi asked Krystal on the record. "In six months? Geez. I'm hoping to be in love by fall," Krystal responds with a giggle.
Jessi is the Founder and Director of The Folk and The Lore Inc. which hosts live storytelling events every month. She met Krystal at a previous event themed, Love, Lust & Adoration and fell in love with her story. The professional photographer, who creates gorgeous short films about some of the people she meets, asked Krystal to be part of The Love Jump. "I was like you have to let me make this into a longer documentary film!" Jessi is committed to seeing Krystal's love story through to the end. The ladies will meet often to document the highs and lows of the love seekers adventure until she finds "the one". "Krystal is such a great person and she deserves this and we want to know what she's doing. People want to see if she's going to fall in love!"
