The Home Depot Looks to Hire 300 Associates in Reno Area

Posted: Updated:

The Home Depot Inc. says it's looking to hire 300 associates in the Reno area and 80,000 nationwide in preparation for spring.

"We are looking for high energetic, customer friendly people who want to work weekends," said Della Lemons, store manager of the Home Depot on Summit Ridge Court.

The jobs start part-time and just for this spring, but Lemons said it could parlay into a full-time job, depending on one's customer service skills.

Lemons said spring is always their busiest selling season, so they need help right away.

Most of the positions are for garden, plumbing, lumber and cashiers.

Home De opt will train you. You don't have to have the skills to apply.

Lemons said they are taking applications right now and they will start hiring in March.

"This is a very fun, happy friendly place to work. We are very busy, so it's always going, never stopping. It's just a lot of fun to be here."

Available positions vary by store. Students, retirees, veterans and reservists are encouraged to apply.

For veterans and reservists interested in employment, The Home Depot's online military skills translator can help match unique military skills to positions within the company. More information is available online at www.homedepotmilitary.com.
