From JA Nugget:

JA Nugget's Basque and Mediterranean restaurant, Restaurante Orozko, will cease operations at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014, as part of the Nugget's long-range plan to renovate and reposition the property. To accommodate guests' dining needs, The Steakhouse Grill and The Rotisserie Buffet will now be open 7 days a week.

"Restaurante Orozko serves some of the most authentic and delicious Basque and Mediterranean food in the Northern Nevada region," said Nugget President and CEO Carlton Geer. "We will be focusing our business repositioning efforts on the Nugget's other dining options for the time being."

The Nugget's longstanding tradition of Jazz Night on Wednesdays in Orozko Lounge will also come to an end as the restaurant and lounge close.

There are no plans to change the interior of Restaurante Orozko or Orozko Lounge for now. The venue will remain available for receptions and social functions.

Restaurante Orozko opened on August 11, 1998 and the Basque theme was inspired by John Ascuaga's heritage. The name, Orozko, comes from the name of the Basque village from which John Ascuaga's parents emigrated.

Nugget guests can continue to dine at the Nugget's seven other restaurants, including The Oyster Bar, The Steakhouse Grill, The Rotisserie Buffet, Rosie's Café, The Noodle Hut, Gabe's Deli and Starbucks.
