National Weather Service Issues Flood Watch

Posted: Updated:

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for portions of northern Nevada and eastern California.

The impacted areas include:

In California: The eastern Sierra from Highway 36 to Eastern Alpine County, including the Tahoe Basin.

In western Nevada: The Tahoe Basin and Western Nevada Sierra Front, West of Highway 95.

The Flood Watch will remain in effect through Sunday afternoon. Until then residents can expect periods of heavy rain, and the possibility of minor flooding in all affected areas. The NWS also says heavy rain may also trigger rock and mud slides.
