It's a weekend for indoor activities about the outdoors and outdoor activities indoors. Confused? The big exhibit at the Nevada Museum of Art is by Phyllis Shafer. She's a world-renowned artist based in Lake Tahoe. He exhibit is a collection of a hundred paintings of landscapes. Outdoor beauty, housed indoors.  Meantime while some of the Sr. Olympic Games this year are in Tahoe, there are also a lot of them indoors in Reno, including bowling and indoor baseball. In addition you can take part in Heart Healthy activities with a run at Scheels in Sparks and you can shop with a Divas Day Out in Reno. Enjoy!

Phyllis Shafer is a world-renowned landscape artist with a flair for the surreal. She lives in Lake Tahoe and a collection of her work is on display at the Nevada Museum of Art. It opens on Saturday which coincides with Second Saturday when admission is free. There will also be family crafts on hand.

The mathletes are coming. In fact they are coming from all around Northern Nevada and they'll be competing at the Davidson Academy this weekend.

This weekend is last call for Scorpions at Trader Dick's. That's right the Polynesian-themed restaurant in the desert, the one that boasts one of the largest non-museum aquariums in the west is closing. But scorpions will be on tap through Saturday night.

IMAX Theater at Legends Pre-Grand Opening 3 p.m., Superman: Man of Steel.

It's the newest in big luxury theaters. It's this area's first IMAX Theater and they will be holding a pre-grand-opening screening this weekend. Proceeds will go as a charitable donation to a local family in need.
