The Sochi Olympic Games saw some Pre-Opening Ceremony Action Thursday.   In the Snowboard Slopestyle Qualifiers we had three-competitors with local ties.  There was no medal elimination, but the top four from two heats automatically advanced to the Finals.

South Lake Tahoe's Jamie Anderson put together an impressive first run scoring 93.50, good enough for second in her heat and getting her into the Finals.  Truckee's Karly Shorr nailed down an 84.75 good for fourth in her heat and earning her a spot in the Sunday Finals.

On the Men's side, Reno's Chas Guldemond missed out on the automatic top four in his heat by three-quarters of a point scoring an 86. He still has a shot to qualify for the Finals in Saturday's Semifinal.
