Would you wager $15,000 for the chance to win millions? That's what one group does every year - and they're visiting Reno right now.
Meet Team Frosty - named after their founder Richard Frost. It is a group of 160 friends who pool their money and run it continuously through the MegaBucks machine over the course of several days.
They have done this in Reno every year for 14 years all in the hopes that those numbers will line up just right and make them millionaires. "This is like an all-day adventure over here. We're running $15,000 through there at $3 a pop," says Jim Clark.
They're not your average high rollers to be sure.
Each member of the team puts up $100 - and they split the winnings. They have never hit the jackpot, but, most years they say they do break even. "If we go over we get paid a little bit, if we go under we have to put a little bit in. I think the most we've ever done is like $20, something like that. It's not bad."
Other than their joint interest in the MegaBucks mission, Team Frosty is also very involved in competitive cribbage. Team members say that's how they all found each other in the first place.
They come from all over the U.S., Canada, even the U.K.
