Posted: Updated:

From the Regional Transportation Commission:

The Regional Transportation Commission invites the public to attend a community meeting for an introduction and to provide input on the development of the Keystone Avenue Corridor Study on Thursday, Feb. 6th at Reno High School from 5 pm to 7 pm. The study will identify and evaluate potential multimodal transportation improvements that will be coordinated with existing land use and redevelopment projects. Significant areas of focus will include, but not limited to, pedestrian and ADA (American with Disabilities Act) enhancements, safety improvements, traffic operations, transit and bicycle improvements. Existing conditions and needs concerning the Keystone Bridge will also be addressed in the study. A formal presentation will be given at 6 pm.

Neighborhood enhancements will be based on community input in collaboration with the City of Reno, NDOT and other agencies. The goal is a comprehensive plan to guide short- and long-term improvements in the corridor. The boundary limits of the study are Keystone Avenue from California Street to Coleman Drive, including Cherry Lane to Newlands Circle; Booth Street from California Street to Riverside Drive; Foster Drive from Booth Street to Keystone Avenue.

The RTC project team will be available to meet with the public to answer questions and listen to ideas and concerns about the Keystone Avenue Corridor. A Spanish speaking translator will be available at the meeting. For information about the study visit www.rtcwashoe.com and click on HOT TOPICS.
