Winning Weekend Ahead for Reno Economy

Posted: Updated:

No matter whether you are rooting for the Seattle Seahawks or the Denver Broncos this weekend, the celebrating expected in downtown Reno will be a win for the local economy. Because the Super Bowl has become a real reason to party. And local casinos are good at that.

"Super Bowl has become so big that we consider it a three-day event. People come in on Friday, the business builds on Saturday and Sunday the game isn't until 3:30 so people spend Sunday night here too. It really has become one of the busiest weekends of the year for us," says Rick Murdock, Vice President of Marketing for the Eldorado.

In fact the Eldorado is sold out in terms of rooms...already. And they have a lot of parties planned around the property from a private invitation-only party of 500 in the convention center to public parties in the other bars and clubs on property.

The Silver Legacy has parties on property as well, and even a big one down the street.

"Our Big Game Party will actually be at the Reno Ballroom," says Tracy Soliday, publicist for the Silver Legacy. "We'll have food and drinks, all you can eat and the Bud Girls!"

And every other sports bar and casino in town has plans for their fans too.

Check out the list below.
