Crews Work to Remove Overturned Garbage Truck

Posted: Updated:

Officials with the Nevada Highway Patrol and the Nevada Department of Transportation are working to remove a garbage truck after it overturned on Interstate 80 eastbound just before 5 a.m. Thursday morning.

Troopers say the truck was traveling eastbound on I-80 just before the McCarran exit in Sparks when the driver of the truck lost control and hit the center median, before rolling the truck on it's side.

The driver of the Waste Management truck was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Troopers say it could take 1 to 2 hours to remove the truck from the roadway.

Officials remind drivers to take it extra slow and give yourself plenty of space when the roads are wet and slippery.
