USGS Reports Magnitude 3.1 Quake Near Virginia City

The U.S. Geological Survey reports a magnitude 3.1 earthquake hit near Virginia City Tuesday morning.

The USGS says the quake hit just before 8:30am about nine miles north-northeast of Virginia City and 12 miles east-southeast of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.  

There's no immediate reports of damage.

An earlier magnitude 1.2 quake hit the same area around 4:45am also on Tuesday.
