Things 2 Do This Weekend!

It's a weekend for sheep, beer, seeing the stars and Broadway! And not necessarily in that order. You'll find it all on this week's list of Things 2 Do. The Annual Sheep Show runs through Saturday. Sierra Arts will have 100 beers from 35 distributors for its annual fundraiser and this is your chance to see the supernova. Enjoy!

 

Friday 1/24

Reno Music Project 6pm-10pm Wildflower Village
It's a chance to have your music heard. Bands are welcome and the mic will be open. And it's at the Wildflower Village just west of town.

19th Annual Brew HaHa for Sierra Arts Rose Ballroom at the Nugget 8pm-11pm

More than 100 brews to taste from 35 local microbreweries and continuous live music. The Brew HaHa is at the Rose Ballroom in John Ascuaga's Nugget. Proceeds benefit local artists and local arts projects through Sierra Arts.

Ice Models and Bottles at EDGE Nightclub at the Peppermill Fashion Show 10pm

They say this fashion show is so cool it will make your spine tingle! And it's at the very cool EDGE Nightclub in the Peppermill.

Mamma Mia Broadway at the Pioneer 8 pm

The Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts celebrates Broadway and this is part of the Broadway season. Mamma Mia the musical will be onstage all weekend. Friday night curtain goes up at 8.

It's the largest conservation and mountain hunting convention. And it runs all weekend at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and Peppermill Resort and Casino.

See the Supernova!

The physics Department at UNR is offering free viewing of the newly discovered supernova in what's called the "Cigar Galaxy" some 11.4 million miles away! It's at the MacLean Observatory in south Reno off the Mt. Rose Highway.

Saturday 1/25

Fundraiser for local cancer patient:

A Reno woman is battling cancer and the community is banding together to help raise the $50,000 needed for her treatment. It's a team-workout fundraiser and will be held at the Mayberry Athletic Center in west Reno. Registration starts at 8 the competition starts at 9.

Fantasy Wedding Faire, Grand Sierra Resort, 11am-4pm

The 27th annual Fantasy Wedding Faire is hitting the Grand Sierra Resort! It'll feature more than 75 wedding professionals showcasing everything from flowers to dance lessons. Tickets are $10 and $12 at the door. Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association and the fight against heart disease and stroke.
