From Renown Health:

Kimberly Fernandez was just an infant when she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis – a chronic lung disease that she will battle her entire life. For the past year, Kimberly has been under the care of Sonia Budhecha, M.D., her pulmonologist at Renown Medical Group Pediatrics.

Through it all, Kimberly and her family have found strength and healing through their medical team. Kimberly's mom, Monica, said that the staff at Renown "treats us like family." For Monica and the Fernandez family, "the radiothon will help raise awareness about the hospital and cystic fibrosis, and gives us hope that Kimberly will live a long, healthy life."

Alice 96.5 will host the 36 Hours for Kids Radiothon to raise charitable funds that help keep quality healthcare close to home for kids like Kimberly. Radio personalities Bill Schulz, Connie Wray and RJ Palominos will share powerful, emotional and uplifting stories of our youngest patients and their families, including Kimberly.

Funds raised through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals help heal and save lives every day by providing Renown Children's Hospital with resources for medical technology, training and facilities. Renown Children's Hospital has benefited from Children's Miracle Network Hospitals for over 25 years. All funds raised locally stay local to help kids in our community.

Last year's inaugural Radiothon raised more than $40,000. "We're hoping to build on last year's success. Hearing moms and dads tell us stories of how their children are battling sickness and disease is a real eye-opener. It's important for us to be sure children in our community can get the care they need," Schulz continues."The awareness and the money we raise during the Radiothon certainly helps."

Tune in Jan. 23 - 24 and listen to the stories of miracles that happen every day at Renown Children's Hospital. All seven radio stations with Reno Media Group, including Alice 96.5, will broadcast the Radiothon:
