Mono County, California deputies have two Northern Nevada men in custody accused of narcotics possession after a traffic stop on Highway 395 on Monday.

Deputies say they stopped 29-year-old Jose Arreola of Reno and 33-year-old Esidro Andrade of Sparks just before 11am Monday on southbound 395 near Highway 203 for failing to have registration stickers on their rear license plates. During the stop, deputies say Arreola admitted to driving with a stolen license plate.

Because Andrade had a prior conviction for drug trafficking, deputies say they used a K9 to search the car and found more than 15 grams of methamphetamine, as well as a glass pipe with drug residue inside it.

Arreola was arrested for possession of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance for sale; driving without a license; and forged/altered vehicle registration.

Andrade was arrested for possession of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance for sale; possession of controlled substance paraphernalia; and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

All charges for both men are pending with the Mono County District Attorney's Office.
