Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detectives have arrested a Reno woman they say stole personal information from at least 11 identified people.

Detectives say 25-year-old Velvet Breanna Knight Beaman (also known as Velvet Bernhard) acquired the victims' personal information within Washoe County through various means. After getting the information, they say she would then use their credit card and checking numbers.

Beaman was arrested earlier this week. She faces 27 counts of identity theft and usage identifying information of another with intent to harm. Additional charges included burglary, possession of a forged instrument and uttering a forged instrument.

Detectives say many of the victims weren't aware of the alleged fraud until authorities notified them. They are now working with financial institutions to identify additional victims.

Beaman is currently being held in the Washoe County Detention Facility. Her bail is set at $575,000. Beaman is also being held on probation violation charges by the Nevada State Parole and Probation Department.
