Crews Investigate RV Fire in Northeast Reno

Posted: Updated:

Fire crews are trying to figure out what caused an RV to go up in flames Thursday night in northeast Reno.

Crews got the call of a structure fire around 5pm on Greenstone Drive.

Fire crews say when they were heading to the location they could see a large plume of smoke. When they got there they found the RV fully engulfed in flames.

They were able to quickly knock down the blaze, but because of what RV's are made of-- they say it burned quickly.

"It's very small dimension lumber, very light aluminum siding and of course the flammable materials inside makes for a very fast moving fire," says Reno Fire Department Captain Owen Hardy.

Hardy tells us one person was inside the RV but made it out safely.
