Posted: Updated:

Reno Fire investigators are trying to determine how a fire started on the balcony of an apartment Tuesday night.

Fire crews got the call around 6 p.m. at the Rosewood Park Apartments on Mira Loma Drive in Reno.

Fire crews say the fire originated near a storage closet on the balcony of the apartment and spread to the attic. They say the homeowners noticed the flames, called 911 and got out of the home.

Firefighters say they were able to get the fire out quickly but the overhaul process kept them on scene till about 9 p.m. Tuesday night.

A battalion chief with the Reno Fire Department tells us two families have been displaced because of the fire. He also says four units are without power as a result of the flames.

No one was hurt in the fire and the cause is still under investigation.
