Mono County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating an accident that killed a woman south of Bridgeport, California on Highway 395 Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies say just before 12:30pm, Suzanne Stokes was driving a Subaru when it crossed the center line of the roadway into the south lane hitting a GMC van. Stokes died at the scene.

The van's driver, Barbara Koehler, was transported to Bridgeport then transferred by Care Flight to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. Renown is Mono County's closest trauma center.

Deputies say the exact sequence of events remains under investigation and that no other immediate information was immediately released.
