Sunday's January 12th season premiere of Investigation Discovery's show 'Unusual Suspects' will feature the Brianna Denison case.

Denison was raped and murdered in January 2008. Her body was found about three weeks later in a south Reno field.

Denison's family has always maintained that Brianna's life might have been spared if her killer, James Biela's DNA, was on file from a prior arrest.

As a result of the crime, Denison's family worked to enact new legislation that would require DNA samples from people arrested for felonies. Governor Brian Sandoval signed Senate Bill 243 into law last May.

Biela remains on death row in Nevada.
