From Immunize Nevada:
Northern Nevada fitness organizations are rallying together to raise funds and show support to help Elisa Storke battle a recent diagnosis of stage four metastatic melanoma cancer. The 33-year-old wife and mother of 10-month old baby Dylan, was diagnosed just one day before Thanksgiving. Due to the severity of her diagnosis, treatment options are limited to the Melanoma Center at University of California, San Francisco, and the combination of travel expenses and prescriptions is costing the family more than $10,000 per month.
To support Elisa and her family bear the financial burden of treatment costs Tactical Athletic Performance, a division of Mayberry Athletic Center (MAC) to benefit charities, is hosting a community-wide fundraiser joining teams from Northern Nevada gyms and fitness groups to compete in a team fitness challenge on Saturday, January 25 from 8 a.m. to noon at the MAC, 8543 White Fir Street in Reno, Nev. The competition will be fun, functional and open to all fitness levels, however is limited to the first 120 participants or 20 teams.
