Nevada Highway Patrol troopers are investigating an accident on Highway 95A near Yerington that injured a pickup driver on Saturday.

The accident happened just before 9:30am on U.S. Highway 95A near Campbell Lane.

Troopers say semi-truck driver 34-year-old Michael A. Greene of Reno was driving south on the highway and was preparing to make a right turn onto Campbell, but in order to make a sharp turn Greene steered his 2014 Peterbilt into the center turn lane before making a wide right turn onto Campbell.

Meanwhile, 77-year-old Victor L. Buron of Wellington was following the semi-truck in his 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with his wife, Janet L. Buron. Troopers say Buron failed to slow down and hit the right side of the truck's container in the south travel lane. The front of the Ram also became wedged under the trailer.

Buron was flown by Care Flight to Renown Regional Medical Center with what was believed to be very serious injuries. He's currently listed in fair condition. Buron's wife suffered minor injuries.

Greene was not hurt - and no other vehicles were involved.

If you have any information on this accident, you are urged to call Trooper Doug Kassebaum at 775-463-7799 or dkassebaum@dps.state.nv.us regarding case #NHP-140100354.

Troopers say once the investigation is completed, any appropriate enforcement action such as a citation will be issued.
