NORAD Tracking Santa's Sleigh Around Globe

Posted: Updated:

With just hours to go before Christmas, Santa has gotten the all-clear for entry into the U.S.

The Department of Agriculture says Saint Nick and his reindeer may enter the country over any northern border port. The agency has waived the disease-testing requirement typically in place for those bringing livestock across the border.

Officials say Santa's reindeer have been found to be healthy and are able to "prance and paw" with each hoof.

But there are some stipulations to their arrival in the states. The reindeer must answer to the names Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph -- and must never have been fed anything other than hay, sugar plums and gingerbread.

Parents and children can track Santa's whereabouts on the North American Aerospace Defense Command's website at http://www.noradsanta.org/.
