Hug High School Hires New Head Football Coach

Posted: Updated:

Hug High School has hired Carl Lagrone as its newest head football coach.

Lagrone is currently a weights/conditioning teacher at the Reno high school. He has been an assistant at Hug and McQueen High Schools over the last seven years.

He also played defensive back and linebacker for the Nevada Wolf Pack from 1999-2003.

"We are very excited to have a coach with his football background and experience with the students in the Hug community. We expect great things from Carl moving forward," said Brad Bodine, assistant principal at Hug.

Lagrone replaces Derek Bennett who was fired earlier this month.

Hug football was 0-10 this season and missed the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year, three of those under Coach Bennett.
