2 Arrested After Investigation of Woman Found on Freeway

Washoe County deputies have arrested two people in connection with a kidnapping that ended with a woman walking north on U.S. 395 the night before Thanksgiving.

27-year-old Abby M. Batholet was arrested on December 7th, and 32-year-old Charles Walter Jennings was arrested five days later.

Both remain in custody at the Washoe County Sheriff's Detention Facility on charges of kidnapping, battery and false imprisonment.

According to detectives, Bartholet and Jennings abducted a woman from a home in the Red Rock area on Wednesday, November 27th. They say around 8:30pm, the victim somehow exited the suspect's vehicle while speeding northbound on Highway 395 between Red Rock Road and White Lake Parkway where she tried to flag down passing drivers.

Deputies responded where they found the woman on the highway. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries she suffered during the incident.

The victim's identity has not been released.
