Harry Reid's office says the senator has been released from the hospital and is back home with his wife, Landra after being diagnosed with exhaustion.

Reid was admitted to the hospital early Friday for observation after not feeling well overnight.

A statement released from his spokesman Adam Jentleson said, "doctors diagnosed him as exhausted, not anything more serious, and have cleared him to go back to work."

Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois opened session Friday saying he talked to Reid and the majority leader felt good.

Reid spent today resting, talking to family, friends and colleagues, reading the news and discussing Senate business.

The statement went on to say, "he appreciates the kind words and thoughts sent by so many, thanks the doctors at George Washington University Hospital for the excellent care he received, and wishes everyone a Happy Holidays."
