We are very near Christmas but there are still plenty of events to help you celebrate. There are ways you can help raise money to make wishes come true, ways you can help deliver Christmas to those in need and even a way to see an incredible English village built to scale with everything from Big Ben to castles.  Enjoy!

 

Friday 12/20

Nativity Celebration Holy Cross Church, South Reno

The Holy Cross Lutheran Church is inviting everyone to celebrate the Nativity with arts, crafts, families, fellowship and a chili feed. No reservations necessary. Just show up between 6 and 8 p.m. at 4895 South McCarran Blvd. in Reno.

Macy's Believe Deliveries

Every letter to Santa delivered to Macy's at Meadowood Mall will help important wishes come true this year. For every letter put in their Believe mailbox, Macy's will donate a dollar to Make-A-Wish.

It's a complete Christmas village with a post office, a skating rink and a town full of houses and it's all to scale. And it's on display at the Camelot Party Rentals at 152 Coney Island Drive in Sparks through the holidays.

Saturday 12/21 

Christmas on the Corridor with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office

Every year the Washoe County Sheriff's Office collects Christmas gifts for kids who live in the  Corridor - the 4th, 5th and 6th street area motels. This year they will assemble their baskets Saturday morning and parade through the area delivering to 1,000 people who wouldn't have Christmas without them. Deliveries begin at 10:00.

Reno Firefighters Sam Sabini Baskets

The Reno firefighters have a tradition of giving out food baskets to the homeless for the holidays and they will continue it this Saturday, for the 21st year and they plan to give out 150 baskets this year starting at 9:30am.

Reno Firefighters Kids Holiday Party, Reno Ballroom, noon -3pm

This is a special holiday event that the Reno firefighters have been putting together for low-income area kids for more than a dozen years now and this year they plan to provide Christmas for 75-100 children who wouldn't have much of a holiday without them. Arts and crafts, Santa, food and presents will be included. It goes from noon to 3 in the downtown Reno Ballroom.
