Plumas County Sheriff Identifies Renown Shooting Suspect

Posted: Updated:

We're learning more about the man who shot two doctors and a patron of Nevada Urology Tuesday at the Center For Advanced Medicine.

The Plumas County Sheriff confirmed with Channel 2 News that the shooter is 51-year old Alan Oliver Frazier of Lake Almanor, California.

Police say Frazier is responsible for shooting and killing Dr. Charles "Garo" Gholdoian and injuring Dr. Christine Lajeunesse and 20-year old Shawntae Spears before turning the gun on himself.

We headed up to Hamilton Branch in Plumas County Wednesday and visited the house where the gunman lived alone. People I spoke with are still trying to grasp how their neighbor, Alan, could do such a thing.

"He seemed to know the townspeople," said Jenna McElhannon. "He seemed like a very nice guy, and we'd see him bringing in wood, cutting wood. That's all I know about him."

While she and her husband didn't really know him, I talked with one neighbor who didn't want to go on camera who said she knew him for more than 20 years. She said he was a nice man who was quiet and always had his hunting dog by his side.

When we came up to his house, it was dark and had yellow notes on the front door and garage that said officers searched the home. The Plumas County Sheriff confirms it was in an effort to find the next of kin.

Neighbors say this incident shook their community.

"You just never know," McElhannon said. "You never know what people are capable of... It kind of makes me wonder, why."

Neighbors now have mixed emotions on Frazier. Some still consider him the nice friend who was always there for them, but others now consider him a killer and don't know what to think of the situation.
