Man Arrested in Reno with Terror Ties to India

Balwinder Singh was arrested Tuesday in Reno for allegedly providing material support to terrorism groups in India and Pakistan.

According to the indictment, Singh was a citizen of India who fled to the U.S. And claimed asylum. The indictment alleges Singh is a member of two terrorist organizations (Babbar Khalsa International) and (Khalistan Zindabad Force).

According to authorities, these groups engage in bombings, kidnapping a and murders in India to help establish a Sikh state in part of India.

If convicted, Singh Gaea life in prison and fines up to $250,000 in each count.
