North Valleys High School Janitor Wins National Award

Posted: Updated:

A follow-up on a "Someone 2 Know" we introduced you to last month. The North Valleys High School head custodian - who was in the running for a national award.

Well Thursday, we got the results!

"North Valleys' Patrick Peterson with the award for the 2013 Janitor of the Year! (cheering)"

During this surprise assembly complete with cheerleaders, the Panther band and the entire student body, Patrick was awarded a $2,500 first place prize check from Cintas Corporation. The school received a matching check for supplies. And best of all, bragging rights that they officially have the best head janitor in the country!

"It's great to be recognized, but I don't do it alone and I'm glad to be part of this crew here."

Congratulations to you, Patrick!

When I interviewed him a few weeks ago, he mentioned a much-needed Hawaiian vacation so that prize should help!
