Man Accused of Selling Stolen Goods on Craigslist

Police have a man in custody accused of trying to sell stolen property on Craiglist.

Reno police arrested 30-year-old Brad Braley last Thursday.

They say he tried to sell detectives items he had taken from a storage unit on Thanksgiving. The owner of the storage unit found the stolen property online and called police.

Police say the property owner did the right things by alerting them and keeping himself safe, and say it's important to take precautions whenever you buy or sell anything on Craiglist.

So here are some saefty tips to keep in mind: 

Don't go alone

Insist on a public meeting place, like a cafe

Don't meet in a secluded place

Don't invite strangers into your home

Don't go visit a stranger at their home

Be especially careful when buying/selling high value items

Tell a friend or family member where you're going

Take your cell phone with you

Trust your instincts
