Board of Regents Approve New Mandatory Fee for Fitness Center

Posted: Updated:

The Nevada Board of Regents has approved a fee for undergraduate students to pay for the E.L. Wiegand Fitness Center.

Starting next year that will be $15 more per semester, which will increase to $45 per semester once the center is finished in 2016.

The mandatory fee will not apply to graduate students.

The fitness center will offer weightlifting and fitness training and will include three basketball courts and a 200-meter indoor track. The four-story, 100,000 square foot facility will be built between Lawlor Events Center and the Brian Whalen Parking Complex removing a nearby metered parking lot.
