24,000 Names Dropped From Nevada Active Voter Rolls

Posted: Updated:

More than 24,000 names were cleared off Nevada's active voter list in November as part of a routine voter roll clean-up.

About 6,000 Republican and 12,000 Democrat registrations were removed because voters haven't cast a ballot in two consecutive federal elections or moved without leaving a forwarding address for their mail.

Secretary of State records show that of the nearly 1.2 million active voters that remain in the state, about 42% are registered Democrats, 34% are Republicans and 18% are nonpartisan.

About 6% are members of smaller parties. (AP)
