Reno High Sculpture students have announced their effort to help hungry families this holiday season.

They are presenting the Empty Bowl event on Tuesday, December 10 from 5 – 8 p.m.  The event will be at the Reno High School Industrial Arts Building in room #4.

Students are asking for support for this fun evening in which participants can purchase a beautifully crafted bowl, handmade by a Reno High School Sculpture student. The bowl can then be filled with food donated by local restaurants.

There will be arts and crafts, live pottery wheel demos and entertainment by Reno High School musicians. All proceeds from the event go to support the hungry through the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. "Empty Bowls is a chance for our talented and giving teenagers to give to the community. All 100 Sculpture students are working hard to make unique and creative bowls for the community to enjoy," said Lauren Gandolfo, Reno High School Sculpture Teacher. "Even the school's clubs, teachers and administrators are involved, volunteering their time to come to the Sculpture Studio to make clay bowls!"
