Washoe County School District to Release Students 1 Hour Early

The Washoe County School District says it will release students one hour early Tuesday because of the storm.

Buses will provide transportation to those students who normally ride the bus. Winter bus stops are in effect.

Additionally, all after-school activities, programs and meetings are canceled.

All athletic events are also canceled today, Tuesday, December 3.

It says "the safety of our students and staff is always of the highest priority as we consider these types of decisions."

The early release does NOT affect Incline schools.

Coral Academy of Science representatives say parents can pick up students by 11:30am today. There will be no after school care.

On a side note, TMCC says it will close all its campus locations at 11am. 

Western Nevada College campuses in Carson City and Douglas will both close at 4pm today due to icy roads. The Fallon campus will remain open.

The Northern Nevada Literacy Council will be closed as of noon.
