The Reno-Sparks CA$H MOB has announced a special Art Mob/Ca$h Mob event for December at the Holland Project this Saturday afternoon to support the Rogue Arts & Crafts Village interactive arts event and sale.

The Rogue Art & Craft Village features high-quality one-of-kind handmade art, crafts, and gifts from a slew of local artists, makers, and crafters on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10am-4pm. Follow this link to the webpage:

"For the Reno-Sparks Ca$h Mob, the Rogue is an opportunity to put the Shop Local First concept to work for local artists and creative people. Like local brick & mortar business owners, our friends and neighbors in the vibrant local arts & music scene are entrepreneurs who need the support of community. It's another way of showing off our uniqueness, our Northern Nevada'tude!" says Steve Funk, a founding member. The event also includes the Sierra Nevada College Mobile Art Gallery display and a Holland Edition Print Sale. Hub Coffee Company and Electric Blue Elephant will provide food and refreshments.

Ca$h Mob founder Randy Pease says "This fits easily into the mission of the Reno-Sparks Ca$h Mob, to change the way we think about shopping, and the mission of the Holland Project to increase the economic capacity of the local art community, so this is a perfect marriage". The Reno-Sparks CA$H MOB supports local businesses by holding monthly "Mobs" on the third Tuesday of each month. Every December, the CA$H MOB doubles it's efforts to educate consumers about the value of keeping shopping dollars local whenever possible. Members commit to spending an extra $10-20 monthly with local businesses, $20-40 in December, and are eligible to win prizes supplied by the mobbed business. On December 10th, the group will announce the location of its second holiday shopping event. "It increases our community wealth every time we choose to spend a dollar with a local provider, rather than at a national retailer," Funk says.
