Tree Lighting in Downtown Reno

Posted: Updated:

The holiday season kicks off in downtown Reno with the lighting of the holiday tree.

Festivities take place Tuesday night at the City Plaza.

This year the City of Reno started a new tradition with a permanent holiday tree. The 23-foot tall giant sequoia tree came to Reno from a former wood mill in Camino, California.

After the lighting, the Rink on the River will open for public skating.

Admission fees for the rink are:
•         Adults/Teens (ages 13-54) = $7.50
•         Youth (ages 3-12) = $5.50
•         Seniors (55+) = $5.50

A detailed schedule of skating times and a list of admission fees can be found at www.Reno.gov/IceRink.
