Sierra Association of Foster Families is hosting "Welcome to the Family Table", a program delivered by puppets to educate, create and inspire the prevention of child abuse and neglect within the foster care community and beyond, held in the Joe Crowley Student Union Ballrooms at the University of Nevada-Reno at November 26th, 2013 at 6:30pm.

Performances include: Many Paths Community Gospel Singers, Japanese Dance, Eastern Indian Dance, Hispanic Folklorico Dance, Middle Eastern Dance, Fascinating Rhythm Dance, Zumba Supremes Dance, and Vocalists: Jill Marlene, Tiffanie Story, McClain and Lisa Marie Simon with special appearances by Jenifer Rose of PLUSH LIFE TV, Deandre Seals from UNR, Kia Crater of Fascinating Rhythms, Senorita Maria Godinz, and Angel Reed from the Broadway cast of ROCK OF AGES. "Bring the kids!" says SAFF's Executive Director, Joseph Galata. He emphasizes the show is about "happiness, joy, and celebrating the strength and beauty of kids with disabilities."

Event is free-no admission charge, though donations are accepted to help children with disabilities in the foster care system to participate in horse therapy, singing and dancing classes, and receive In-Home/After School Academic Remedial Education.

This event is sponsored by the Sierra Association of Foster Families (SAFF), a 501 c3 non-profit organization. SAFF believes that children and teens in our area's foster care system "deserve opportunities to discover and strengthen their intelligence and health, dignity, and respect by achieving academic success, developing healthy physical-mental-emotional-social family lifestyles, attaining family re-unification" and encourages a positive community perspective of our city's youth. SAFF achieves this mission by offering education for foster and birth parents, equestrian therapy, in-home after school tutoring, and health and happiness arts such as zumba dance.
