Leaders from the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation took some time Wednesday to thank our community for all the support they've received.
"Amazing, we cannot do what we do for these local families that have cancer without partners like this," says Debbie Strickland.
Last month Channel 2 teamed up with the Reno Fire Department for a dining out fundraiser in memory of a local girl who passed away from cancer.
It raised over $10,000 to help the Children's Cancer Foundation.
A large amount of those donations came in from city council, Reno Mayor Bob Cashell, and several local fire departments, so at today's city council meeting the foundation's director thanked many of the donors in person.
Strickland says that the money will be put to good use, helping children with cancer and their families recover and rebuild.
