Companies Step Up to Help Families This Holiday Season

Posted: Updated:

Local companies doing well financially are stepping up to help out those in need this holiday season. The Burgarello Alarm Company in Sparks is offering frozen turkeys to those who need them next Tuesday.

"We'll have 275 of them, first come first serve, and no strings attached," said Steven Saari with Burgarello. "We've had 40 good years of prosperity and we really wanted to give back to the community and last year was great. So we're doing it again."

They'll be available starting at 9am Tuesday at their office on Snider Way.

And Bully's Sports Bar is offering two different chances at a free dinner. The Early Bird Dinner at the Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club Wednesday from 4pm-7pm and dinner on Thanksgiving at the Bully's on McCarran and Pyramid Way from noon to 5pm.

"It's all free. No obligation for anything," said Jody Clark, Chief Operations Officer for Bully's. "We plan on feeding 1,500 if we can at the Boys and Girls Club. Last year we fed 900 there and it grows every year. And on Thanksgiving Day we will feed about 500 more. Just come in and sit down and we'll make sure you have a great holiday."

Both companies say they see that the economy has been hard on folks and they are trying to do whatever they can to make the holidays as happy as they can for everyone.

And the Carson Nugget will be offering its annual holiday feast in the Banquet Room of their Casino 11am-1pm on Thanksgiving Day. It's their 59th year for giving  back to the community.
