Water Break Damages Downtown Reno Nightclub

Posted: Updated:

A downtown Reno nightclub is closed for repairs after a pipe broke over the weekend flooding the building with water.

Rise Nightclub's owner says there was a 2-inch pipe break on the roof which dropped water onto the club space and into the basement as well.

The most difficult damage to repair is the lighting and entertainment system.

"All of that was doused with water. We have a significant amount of water that went behind the walls and down the drywall finding its way into the basement and that's going to be very difficult getting all that water out and then figure out what's damaged and get it all out and repair it as well," says owner Shannon Dobbs.

Dobbs says it could take anywhere from two to six months to repair the damage and staff members will be out of work during that time.

He says they're reaching out to the community for businesses looking to take on extra staff through the holidays.
