Nevada (1-1) defeated Cal Poly (0-2) 60-58 to snap a nine-game losing skid dating back to last season. The win also ended the Mustangs 13-game home win streak.

Sophomore Cole Huff scored a career-high 14 points and forced a jump ball with 11 seconds to play in the game that gave the ball to Nevada which set up the heroics by  Deonte Burton.

Burton made his 100th start tonight.  He scored the winning bucket with 6.6 seconds on the clock, was fouled, made the free throw and put the Pack up 60-58.  In the final seconds he stole the ball to preserve the victory.

Burton has scored over 20 points in both games this season with his 22 tonight and 23 in the Pacific contest.  He surpassed 1,500 career points tonight and ranks ninth in school history with 1,504.

Nevada's second road game in a three-game swing is at San Francisco on Friday night.  The Pack is at Cal State Bakersfield on Nov. 18.

Michael Perez' hit a 3-pointer with 17 seconds to go from the top of the key to pull Nevada within a point, 58-57.  Perez scored in double figures for the second consecutive game finishing with 13.

Head coach David Carter is 75-58 in his fifth season leading the Wolf Pack.
