Sparks Police arrested a man for beating up and kidnapping his girlfriend, and now they are looking for witnesses.

Police arrested 37-year-old Justin Lauderdale Monday night for kidnapping, false imprisonment and domestic battery.

According to police, it all started Sunday night just before 10 p.m. They responded to a call at Paul's Market on Vance Way in Sparks, saying that a woman was being beaten by a man in the parking lot and forced into a car. When they arrived, they learned the two had left in a gold Ford Taurus.

Then on Monday, around 3 p.m., officers were called to Northern Nevada Medical Center, where they found the woman with "multiple injuries on her head, face and body." She told them her boyfriend had driven her to Reno, held her against her will and beat her. She says, with the help of a relative, she was able to leave early Monday morning.

Police later found Lauderdale in the gold Ford Taurus seen during the attack Sunday night, and arrested him.

The victim also tells police, several men in a white car witnessed her being attacked at Paul's Market Sunday night. She says they even yelled at Lauderdale to leave her "alone."

Police would like to speak with those men, or any one else who may have witnessed this crime. If you know anything, you're asked to call the Sparks Police Department, or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
