Authorities are investigating several area cases of slashed tires on many law enforcement vehicles – and some civilian cars.

The Highway Patrol says four troopers had both their state-owned and personal vehicles vandalized; their tires were slashed and keyed in the area of Knickerbocker Drive and Harkin Circle in Dayton.

Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Chuck Allen says three Lyon County deputy vehicles and one tribal police car were also damaged. Several civilian vehicles were also hit, but no specific number was immediately available.

Deputies estimate the cost to repair the damage from the vandalism will be in the thousands of dollars.
